Beginnings

I’ve been throwing about the idea of starting a blog lately. The problem that I always ran into when I contemplated starting a new blog was the appeal. I can count on one hand the number of people who would be interested in reading anything I created that lacked a clear purpose. In the past, I’ve always had trouble keeping up motivation to write in anything lengthy that was solely day to day ramblings. A few weeks ago, as I was working on making some candies for a vegan friend, I realized that I wanted to share them with more than just their intended recipient (because they turned out so nicely!). I’ve wanted to do this with a lot of things that I cook and bake and have, in the past, done this via pictures uploaded to Facebook. While this is a simple solution, I still wanted to have a more central location for these types of things. So here we are!

I intend this blog to be a space for sharing my (relatively) newly found love of cooking, tips that I discovered, and loved kitchen tools along with the necessary smattering of personal stories to keep my friends and family updated. I think the latter will be especially useful in the near future as I prepare for an internship in Washington, D.C. over the summer and start to move forward with my career in public administration, wherever I end up.

Thanks for reading!
